The Cadillac Model A is the first automobile produced by the Cadillac Automobile Company, built in late 1902 and sold as a 1903 model after Henry Leland reorganized the remains of the failed Henry Ford Company under the Cadillac name. A simple two seat runabout powered by a single cylinder engine, it established Cadillac's early reputation for precision manufacturing and interchangeable parts.
