The BYD Shark 6, called simply the BYD Shark in some markets, is a plug-in hybrid mid-size pickup truck made by the Chinese company BYD Auto and the first light utility vehicle the maker has built. It debuted in Mexico in May 2024, the first time BYD staged a global debut outside China, and it is not sold in China itself, although a Fangchengbao Shark is planned for the Chinese market in 2026. The truck has a body-on-frame chassis and a Dual Mode Off-Road hybrid drivetrain with a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor on each axle, giving 321 kilowatts, a claimed 0 to 100 kilometres per hour time of 5.7 seconds and a braked towing capacity of 2,500 kilograms. It is built in Zhengzhou, Henan, and was launched in Brazil in October 2024 and in Australia and New Zealand later that month.
