BYD Seagull

Automobiles

The BYD Seagull is a battery electric city car that BYD Auto has built since 2023, sitting below the Dolphin in the range and, until the Racco arrived in 2026, the smallest BYD. It belongs to the Ocean series, falls in China's A0 class and is sold through Ocean Network dealerships. The car is a four-seat, five-door hatchback only 3,780 millimetres long, introduced in China on 27 April 2023; BYD took 10,000 orders within 24 hours, and the 200,000th car was built on 29 November 2023, seven months after launch. Its price of under 90,000 yuan drew international attention. Export names differ: Dolphin Mini in some Latin American markets, Dolphin Surf in Europe and South Africa, and Atto 1 in several Asia-Pacific markets. A facelift arrived in February 2025.
