BYD S6

Automobiles

The BYD S6 is a mid-size crossover SUV designed and manufactured by BYD Auto, and it was the brand's first crossover SUV. It was shown at the Guangzhou Auto Show in late 2010 and first officially sold in Changsha, China, on 6 May 2011. Production began in April 2011 and lasted until May 2016, although a version known as the BYD S7 was kept going until 2018. It became the best selling domestic SUV in China by reaching 15,000 units in December 2011 and was named China's SUV of the Year. It was sold with 2.0 and 2.4 litre engines in eight trim levels, and in December 2012 it earned a five-star C-NCAP crash-test rating, the first Chinese domestic SUV to do so. The Jin Yue version of November 2012 had a smart watch key. Its design is controversial because its side profile closely resembles the second generation Lexus RX, and it was exported to Ukraine, Uruguay and Chile and built in Iran.
