BYD G6

Automobiles

The BYD G6 was a mid-size four-door saloon made by the Chinese manufacturer BYD between 2011 and 2018. It was first released in China on 26 September 2011 as the successor to the BYD F6 and, like that car, came only as a three-box sedan. A major facelift followed in October 2014, and the car was replaced in 2020 by the BYD Han. Two four-cylinder petrol engines were offered: a BYD-designed all-aluminium 1.5 litre turbo producing 113 kilowatts with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic, and a Mitsubishi-derived 2.0 litre producing 103 kilowatts with a five-speed manual. A more premium trim called Sirui, with different styling and equipment, sat above the standard G6 in the same way the Surui trim did on the F3.
