The BYD F0, formerly called the F1, is a city car that the Chinese manufacturer BYD introduced in July 2008 and produced until 2015. It was unveiled at the 2007 Guangzhou motor show and priced in 2009 at about 6,700 US dollars, with a reported fuel consumption of 4.2 litres per 100 kilometres. Its 1.0 litre petrol engine makes 50 kilowatts at 6,000 rpm, and the car reaches 100 kilometres per hour in 12.8 seconds. The article describes the design as an unlicensed copy of the European Toyota Aygo. In its most basic Latin American specification, with no airbags, ABS or stability control, the F0 received zero stars for adult occupants and one star for toddlers from Latin NCAP in 2016. Petrol versions ended, and an electric version called the e1, with a 45 kilowatt front motor, was introduced in 2019.
