BYD Destroyer 05

Automobiles

The BYD Destroyer 05 is a compact sedan from the Chinese automaker BYD Auto, sometimes translated as the Chaser 05 and named after the destroyer type of warship. It is the first plug-in hybrid of the Ocean series, with DM-i 4.0 hybrid technology, and the first vehicle of the Warship series sold through the Ocean Network dealerships. BYD unveiled it at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2021 and it went on sale in China in March 2022. It uses the same body as the Dynasty series Qin Pro and Qin Plus, with restyled front and rear ends. Its 1.5-litre petrol engine makes 81 kilowatts and one or two electric motors bring combined output to 132 or 145 kilowatts, with 55 or 120 kilometres of electric range. Export names include Chazor in Uzbekistan, King in Latin America and Seal 5 DM-i in Southeast Asia.
