The Buick GL8 is a minivan produced by SAIC-GM, the joint venture between the Chinese automaker SAIC Motor and the American automaker General Motors, and it is sold only in China. Introduced in 1999, the first generation GL8 is similar to the General Motors minivans sold in North America under many nameplates. Like the North American minivans it is built on GM's U platform, which is also used by the Buick Rendezvous and the Pontiac Aztek crossover SUVs.
