The British Rail Class 810 Aurora is a bi-mode multiple unit built by Hitachi Rail for East Midlands Railway on the Hitachi AT300 design. Thirty-three five-car units replaced the Class 222 trains on East Midlands Railway's intercity routes. After the order missed the May 2025 timetable change, the first unit was accepted into the fleet on 8 August 2025 once testing was complete, the fleet was officially launched on 20 November 2025 at Etches Park depot in Derby, and the first train formed the 07:00 service from Sheffield to London St Pancras on 3 December 2025. The type grew out of the decision to use bi-mode trains on the Midland Main Line after electrification north of Bedford was cancelled.
