Boeing KC-46 Pegasus

Military Aircraft

The Boeing KC-46 Pegasus is an American military aerial refueling and strategic transport aircraft developed by Boeing from its 767 jet airliner. The United States Air Force selected it in February 2011 as the winner of the KC-X tanker competition to replace the older Boeing KC-135 Stratotankers. The first aircraft was delivered to the Air Force in January 2019, and the service has taken delivery of 105 KC-46A aircraft with a plan to buy 263 in total. Japan and Israel also operate or have bought the type. It followed a long and troubled procurement in which earlier tanker contracts were cancelled in 2006 and 2008.
