After a break of sixteen years the M6 returned in 2005 on the E63 coupe and E64 convertible. A six speed manual gearbox was offered in North America from 2007, taken by only 701 buyers, and a Competition Package with lowered suspension and wider tires arrived in 2009 along with a special edition of a hundred cars. BMW ended production in September 2010 after selling about fourteen thousand. Its model years run from 2005 to 2010.
