The 3/20 PS was BMW's first car wholly of its own design, manufactured from 1932 to 1934 to replace the 3/15, which had been an Austin 7 built under licence. Its engine, based on the Austin Seven unit, had plain bearings and an 80 mm stroke, giving 788 cc and 20 hp with a water pump and an overhead valve head. It was larger than the 3/15, with a backbone frame and independent suspension at the front and rear, and the bodies were built by Daimler-Benz in Sindelfingen. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1932 to 1934).
