The Authi Mini Cooper 1300 was the sporting Mini built in Spain by Authi, launched at the end of 1973 when the company was already in decline. It followed the Mini 1275 GT and was better equipped, with full instrumentation, a heated rear window and a 36 litre fuel tank, and a lower compression ratio than the British Cooper S Mk III. Its engine was not the one of the English Cooper S or of the Italian Innocenti Mini Cooper 1300, although the Italian car used the same engine as the Austin Victoria De Luxe, and with twin SU carburettors it made about 60 horsepower DIN. The car was licensed to Authi in 1973 and built until the Pamplona plant closed in 1975. It is recognisable by its badging, grille and vinyl roof.
