Authi Mini

Automobiles

The Authi Mini was the Spanish-built version of the BMC Mini, assembled by Authi at Pamplona from 1968 until the factory closed in 1975. The first car was the Mini 1275 C, with leather seats and a walnut dashboard that English Minis did not have, and it was followed in 1969 by the Mini 1000 in Standard and Special trim. A Mini 850 joined in 1970 and the 1275 GT replaced the 1275 C in 1971, at a lower price and with the leather and walnut dropped. Bodywork and underpanels came from England, while the engines and gearboxes were made by the Spanish parent company at Los Corrales de Buelna and many smaller parts were made locally to satisfy Spanish protectionist rules. More than 140,000 were shipped, making it the best selling model Authi ever built.
