The Albion CX22S was a heavy artillery tractor used by the British Army in the Second World War. Albion designed and built it in late 1943 to supplement the Scammell Pioneer, which was not available in sufficient numbers, and the army used it to tow the 155 mm Long Tom and the BL 7.2-inch howitzer. It was based on the CX23N 10-ton truck, a wheeled 6x4 with a 100 bhp six-cylinder inline diesel engine, a four-speed gearbox and a two-speed auxiliary gearbox. The cab seated two or three, the rear body seated six with stowage for tools and ammunition, and an 8-ton Scammell winch under the body helped move a gun. Albion built 532 between November 1943 and June 1945.
