The Airbus Helicopters H175, formerly the Eurocopter EC175, is a 7-ton class medium utility helicopter, sometimes called a super-medium, produced by Airbus Helicopters; in China the Aviation Industry Corporation of China builds it as the Avicopter AC352. It was formally launched at Heli-Expo in Houston on 24 February 2008, its prototype made its official first flight on 17 December 2009 at Marignane, and it entered service in December 2014. Airbus-built H175s use two Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6C-67E turboshaft engines, while the Chinese-built AC352 uses Turbomeca Ardiden 3C turboshafts. An agreement of April 2014 covers production of 1,000 aircraft over 20 years, split between separate Airbus and Avicopter assembly lines.
