The Airbus C295, formerly the CASA C-295, is a medium-range twin-engined turboprop tactical transport aircraft designed by the Spanish company CASA, now part of Airbus Defence and Space. It grew out of the CN-235 and first flew on 28 November 1997, with the Spanish Air Force as launch customer in 1999. Production and final assembly are normally at San Pablo airport in Seville, with licence production in Indonesia and in India. Beyond transport it flies parachute drops, medical evacuation, signals intelligence and maritime patrol missions, and a first civil contract followed in 2017.
