The 2025 CX-70 received the Top Safety Pick Plus award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, as the 2024 CX-90 had. It was in its first full model year, a five seat mid-size crossover with the Large Product Group platform and a longitudinal engine, equipped with Kinematic Posture Control technology originally developed for the 2022 MX-5, and available with inline six or plug-in hybrid power. The Large Product Group includes straight six engines and a plug-in hybrid option.
