The Mustang GTD, unveiled on 17 August 2023 as a street version of Ford's GT3 race car, went on sale for the 2025 model year. It has a supercharged 5.2 liter Predator V8 from the previous Shelby GT500 with a rear mounted transaxle, making 815 horsepower. Driven by Dirk Müller in December 2024, it lapped the Nürburgring in 6:57.685, which made it the only American production vehicle at that time to complete the circuit in under seven minutes.
