The 2024 Aviator continued as the pre facelift second generation, a three row luxury SUV on the Explorer's rear wheel drive based architecture, manufactured at Chicago Assembly, with the plug in hybrid Grand Touring trim still on offer. The Aviator is a mid size, three row luxury SUV, now in its second generation after a hiatus from 2006 to 2020.
