The Charger Pursuit resumed production in late 2020 for the 2021 model year after a break caused by the pandemic, with two models: a new V6 all wheel drive version with the eight speed 850RE transmission and a V8 rear drive version. The roles of the V6 and V8 versions were reversed from earlier years. It was a year of reduced police models, as the Pursuit's V6 now had all wheel drive and the 850RE eight speed automatic shared with the Durango.
