Production of the BMW M2 CS began in March 2020, with 2,200 units planned for North America and Eurasia. The CS was a more track focused version of the BMW M2 Competition, unveiled online in November 2019. The first generation M2 of 2020 was the F87, a rear wheel drive coupe, in its fifth year since the start of production in October 2015. The CS was a more powerful car than the standard M2 coupe it followed, and was planned in a quantity of 2,200 units.
