Production of the C-Max Energi in the United States ended in September 2017, which ended the plug in version of the car there. The hybrid version continued to be built into the next year, and the German built C-Max for Europe carried on at Saarlouis until 2019. A longer seven seat version called the Grand C-Max sat above it in the range. The C-Max was a five door compact people carrier that Ford built on the same platform as the Focus.
