The Grand Sport was introduced in April 2016 at the Geneva Auto Show for the 2017 model year, combining the wide body of the Z06 with the dry sump LT1 engine of the Z51 Stingray, rated at 460 horsepower. A Grand Sport Collector Edition was meant to be limited to 1,000 cars. Production for the 2017 model year ran from July 11, 2016 to May 29, 2017. The Grand Sport shared most of the Z06's wide body, except the hood, with the dry sump LT1 engine of the Z51 Stingray, and came as a coupe or a convertible.
