The 2017 Caprice PPV was the last model year of a nameplate that had returned to North America in 2011 as a captive import from Holden, and the single disc CD player, available for the 2014 to 2016 model years, was deleted for the 2017 model year. The nameplate had a civilian and police presence in the Middle East from 1999 until 2017. The Caprice PPV was based on the Holden Caprice WM series, not on the shorter wheelbase Holden Commodore VE that was sold in a police pack in Australia.
