For 2016 a new Sync 3 infotainment system replaced the previous MyLincoln Touch in the MKT. Between 2010 and 2016 the MKT was not sold by trim level except for the Town Car livery variants, a policy that ended with the introduction of the Premiere and Reserve trims for 2017. The MKT was a rebadged Flex built in Oakville, Ontario. The MKT was a rebadged variant of the Ford Flex, built at Oakville Assembly in Ontario beside the Edge and Lincoln MKX.
