In 2015 the HondaJet was awarded a provisional FAA type certificate in March, which allowed continued production and demonstration flights including a tour of Japan and Europe, and then its full FAA type certificate in December. By May 2015 twenty aircraft were in production, the engine factory got certification in March 2015 and Honda handed over the first aircraft to a customer on December 23, 2015.
