The Biante was launched in Indonesia at the 2012 Indonesia International Motor Show, the first country outside Japan that sold it. It was an eight seater minivan aimed at younger families with small children, in the 20S, 20C and Granz grades in Japan, with the 23S discontinued, and it was sold with the original five speed automatic and all wheel drive in some versions. The car fits between the Premacy and MPV in Mazda's range.
