2012 was the F30's launch year. The sedan debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and the 320i, 318d and 316d models were added that month, with the 316i and 320i EfficientDynamics Edition following in autumn. The 328i xDrive and 335i xDrive went on sale in summer. The Touring was shown at Leipzig, the long wheelbase F35 at Auto China in Beijing, and the ActiveHybrid 3 in January. A 320d EfficientDynamics was the most used vehicle at the London Olympics.
