The refreshed 2011 Mazda6 was announced in Geneva in 2010 and sold during 2011. On 3 March 2011 about 50,000 Mazda6 cars of the 2009 and 2010 model years were recalled in the United States, with a further 15,000 in Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, after yellow sac spiders were found nesting in the fuel line. The American sedan used a 2.5 liter four or a 3.7 liter V6 and was built at Flat Rock in Michigan.
