For the 2011 model year the Avenger received its first significant overhaul since its 2008 reintroduction. Exterior changes included slightly revised sheet metal with a new crosshair grille displaying the new Dodge logo, a sleeker bumper cut design and standard LED combination taillights, and the interior had a completely redesigned dashboard. The 2011 Avenger came standard with the existing 173 horsepower 2.4 liter GEMA four, with the new 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 of 283 horsepower. Trims became Express, Mainstreet, Lux and Heat.
