The E70 received its facelift for the 2011 model year, known as the LCI, and for that model year the X5 became BMW's third best selling model, after the best selling 3 Series and the second best selling 5 Series. The X5 M was in production at Spartanburg, and the X5 was now one of the most important BMW models in the United States. The LCI cars carried updated lights and bumpers and new engines, such as the xDrive35i and xDrive50i.
