Mitsubishi began testing the Minicab MiEV in Japan in October 2010, an electric version of the Minicab with a drivetrain and key components borrowed from the i-MiEV kei car, and with the motor retuned for better low end torque for commercial use. The Minicab of 2010 was in its twelfth year as the sixth generation, a petrol engined kei truck and microvan with a Nissan Clipper twin. The Minicab MiEV remains in production as of 2025.
