Pakistan received the Honda City on 31 January 2009, only four months after it first appeared internationally. Honda Australia began selling the Thai made City in February 2009, in two 1.5 liter variants, the VTi and VTi-L, the first City sold in Australia since the 1980s. In July 2009 Brazil began producing the City at Sumare, the first time it was made and sold in large numbers outside Asia, and from September 2009 exports went to Mexico and other Latin American markets.
