The facelifted Discovery 3 of 2008 offered a Harman/Kardon stereo upgrade, a six-disc changer, clear indicator lenses and body-coloured bumpers. It was the final year of the model before the Discovery 4, and in March Ford agreed to sell Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata Motors, a sale completed on 2 June 2008. A driverless version of the LR3 had meanwhile finished fourth in the DARPA Urban Challenge, and the Range Rover Sport had already been built on its platform since 2005.
