Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

Honda introduced the all new ninth-generation RR, the SC59 CBR1000RR, for the 2008 model year at the Paris International Motorcycle Show on 28 September 2007, with an all new 999 cc inline four with titanium valves, an enlarged bore, a completely new cylinder block, head and crankcase, a compression ratio of 12.3 to 1 and a redline of 13,000 rpm. A slipper clutch with a center-cam-assist mechanism was added, and the exhaust was now a side-slung design. The 2008 and 2009 CBR1000RR was awarded Cycle World's International Bike of the Year.
