Chrysler debuted the 2008 model year minivans at the 2007 Detroit auto show, as the fifth of six generations of Chrysler minivans. The RT platform vans, the Dodge Grand Caravan, the Chrysler Town and Country and the Ram C/V, and the Volkswagen Routan that debuted at the 2008 Chicago auto show, were built at Windsor Assembly. They came from a partnership that began in 2005 between Volkswagen and DaimlerChrysler.
