At the end of 2007 a mid cycle restyling was introduced for the EcoSport, which renewed the front to bring it closer to then current Ford pickups, as well as the contemporary Brazilian restyling of the Fiesta, with updated rear lights, both bumpers and a new interior dashboard with better quality materials. For model year 2007 in Mexico only 10,000 units were sold compared to 15,000 in 2004. Its main competitors were the Fiat Palio Adventure and Volkswagen CrossFox.
