The 2007 model year was the last in which the Crown Victoria could be bought at retail in the United States, ahead of 2008. The Lincoln Town Car joined the Ford and Mercury counterparts in production at St. Thomas by 2008, as the Wixom plant, where it was built, fell victim to the Way Forward plan and ceased operations following the 2007 model year. The Crown Victoria remained a rear wheel drive body on frame V8 sedan.
