For 2006 a Special Edition body package featured a body colored SPO grille, new front and rear diffuser type bumpers, lower side skirts and wheels. The three options were the Grand Prix, powered by the 3800 Series III V6, the GT, now powered by the 3800 Series III supercharged V6, and the GXP, powered by the LS4 V8. The Grand Prix was the sedan counterpart of a line that had once been available as a coupe.
