The Grandis of 2006 was in its fourth year, a seven seat MPV that won the Best MPV award at the Bangkok International Motor Show. Engines available were a 2.4 liter four cylinder and, in Europe only, a Volkswagen sourced 2.0 liter DI-D turbodiesel, in a car that Mitsubishi sold in Asia, Oceania, Europe and Latin America. The exterior styling was based loosely on designer Olivier Boulay's earlier Mitsubishi Space Liner concept.
