For the 2006 model year General Motors updated the Equinox for the first time, adding GM badges on the front doors and recoloring the dashboard panel from grey to black. Its mechanical twin, the Pontiac Torrent, was introduced in 2005 at the Los Angeles Auto Show for the 2006 model year, and both were produced exclusively at the CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ontario.
