A US$1,450 tax credit was available on the Honda Insight in the United States, thanks to the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Honda stopped selling the Insight in the UK as early as December 2005. With its aluminum body and frame, the Insight was an expensive car to produce and was never designed for high volume sales, but as a real world test car for hybrid technology. This page belongs to the Honda Insight (first generation), 1999 to 2006 model years; the generation page and the Honda Insight model page link to the other model years, so the changes of neighbouring years can be read in order.
