The second generation car was previewed as the Mazda MX-FLEXA concept at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show and officially unveiled at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. The first generation Premacy of 2004 was in its last full year, built in Japan and still manufactured by FAW Haima in China as the Haima Freema. The second and third row seats could be folded and removed as on many other minivans. The Premacy was one of the least expensive seven seaters on the market when released.
