The Grand Cherokee received a secondary minor facelift for 2004, including round fog lamps, a lower front fascia and a new body color matched inset grille design. All 2004 models equipped with four wheel drive received Jeep's Trail Rated 4X4 certification, with an emblem on the front left fender. Production of the Grand Cherokee WJ ended in mid 2004, as the all new third generation was introduced in the same month.
