The popularity of the Intrepid waned over its 12 year lifespan, and the cab forward design, revolutionary in 1993, had become ubiquitous, culminating in the Intrepid's cancellation. All Intrepids were built at AMC's former assembly plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. They were replaced by the new rear wheel drive LX vehicles, the 2005 Dodge Magnum and the 2006 Dodge Charger. The 2004 Intrepid was the last model year.
