The best known special edition came in 2000, the Tomb Raider, built to celebrate the Defender's appearance in the first film of the series. It was painted dark metallic grey and fitted with a roof rack and support system resembling a roll cage, spot lights, a winch, a bull bar and a raised air intake, as a 90 or a 110 double cab with the Td5 engine. Between 2000 and 2002 the British Ministry of Defence bought a small fleet of Td5 110s for its Green Fleet, mostly sent to the Falklands.
