2000 Ford F-Series

For 2000 Silver was introduced as a color for the Lightning, which had initially been produced in Bright Red, Black and White. The Work Series trim, the basic package for 1999 and 2000, was in its second and final year under that name before becoming the XL in 2001. The F-150 had a 4.2 liter V6 based on Ford's 3.8 liter Essex V6, and 4.6 and 5.4 liter SOHC V8 engines, which were more efficient than the engines they replaced.
