Since 2000 the engines of the Brazilian Courier were replaced by a Zetec Rocam 1.6 litre engine, and the version with that engine had a top speed of 180 kilometres per hour. The European Courier van carried on with petrol and diesel engines until it ended in 2002. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans. It began as a sedan delivery, became a Mazda built compact pickup, and later a Fiesta based van and coupe utility.
