The 2000 LHS continued the redesigned second generation with the winged emblem of the Chrysler division, a full size luxury four door sedan on the LH platform that shared its powertrain and interior with the shorter and sportier Chrysler 300M. The LHS competed with traditional large luxury sedans. The LHS had replaced the Chrysler Imperial and the Chrysler Fifth Avenue as the flagship, and was sold with the Chrysler Concorde.
